Pitless

How do I cross reference a Baker Pitless unit model number to a Boshart number?

The below diagram will help take the confusion out of the cross-referencing process. There are a few things that differ between Baker and Boshart which are explained below.

#1 – Boshart does not indicate the upper barrel size in the model number as our units are consistent in having an upper barrel (a.k.a. Pitless casing) that is 2” larger than the well casing. Alternatively, Baker units are not always 2” larger. For example, a Monitor (Baker) 6” Pitless unit will have a 7” upper barrel.

#2 - Boshart does not indicate “E” for equalization passages in the model number as equalization passages are standard in all our “Normal Well” Pitless units. If the Pitless is for a flowing well the spool type is ordered as “F”. Equalization passages are not an option on a sealed flowing well spool.

#3 - Boshart does not indicate or have an option to order built in check valves in the spool, therefore there is no number for the number of check valves in the Boshart model number.

#4 – Fittings to reduce or increase the size or type of connection are sold separately and are selected on pages 2 to 4 of the order forms which are found at the link below:
