      What fittings are used to install Thin Wall PVC Pipe?

      Schedule 40 PVC fittings which are commonly used to install Sch. 40 PVC piping systems can also be used to install a wide range of “Thin Wall PVC Piping” when the outside diameter is equal to the outside diameter of Schedule 40 NPS (Nominal Pipe Size), also referred to as IPS (Iron Pipe Size).

      The information below is accurate to the best of our knowledge, however it is to be used as a guide only. We strongly recommend that you re-confirm the outside diameter with the supplier of your thin wall piping to make 100% sure the Sch. 40 fittings are indeed compatible!

      Class 315 PVC Pipe - 1/2" Class 315 thin wall PVC pipe. (Class 200 1/2" pipe is discontinued.) Fits standard Sch 40 PVC Fittings. Applications: Potable water & food use rated, but mostly used for irrigation.

      Class 200 PVC Pipe - Class 200 - 3/4", 1", 1.25", 1.5", 2", 2.5", 3" & 4" thin wall PVC pipe. Fits standard Sch 40 PVC Fittings. Applications: Potable water & food use rated.

      SDR21 PVC Pipe - Purple - 3/4", 1", 1.25", 1.5" & 2" thin wall reclaimed water purple pipe. Fits standard Sch 40 PVC Fittings. Applications: NOT for potable water! Reclaimed Water - certified for "gray water" systems.

      SDR13.5 PVC Pipe - Orange CPVC (Fire Sprinkler) - 3/4", 1", 1-1/4", 1-1/2", 2" & 3" Fits standard Sch 40 PVC Fittings. Applications: Not rated for potable water! 

      CL125 IPS SDR32.5 Ultra Thin Wall Pipe #1 - 2.5" & 5". Fits standard Sch 40 PVC Fittings.

      CL100 IPS SDR41 Ultra Thin Wall Pipe #2 - 4", 5", 6", 8", 10" & 12". Fits standard Sch 40 PVC Fittings.

      CL 63 (aka IPS 64) Ultra Thin Wall Pipe #3 - 6" & 8" PVC Plastic Pipe. Fits standard Sch 40 PVC Fittings. Applications: Not rated for pressure or for potable water! Used for ducting (very low pressure).

      CLEAR Thin wall Pipe - 2" to 12". Fits standard Sch 40 PVC fittings. Applications: Not potable water rated! Rated for outdoor and UV light use.

      GRAY Thin Wall PVC Duct Pipe - 10", 12", 14", 16", 18", 20" and 24". Fits standard Sch 40 PVC fittings. Applications: Duct work industrial HVAC use, construction jobs, chemical and lab applications, power plants, manufacturing facilities, medical.

      The exception!

      SDR35 4" Thin Wall Pipe (Requires special SDR35 Fittings.) Applications: Not for potable water! Used mostly for drainage and sewer.
