Maximum Pump Set for 900, 2000, 5000, & 6000 lb. Maximum Load Rated Pitless Adapters

The chart below provides the weight of both Sch. 40 and Sch. 80 1” through 4” steel drop pipe and the weight of water per foot inside the pipe along with the combined weight of the pipe and water per foot to save the calculating. The weight of the pipe and water is calculated for every 100 feet from a 100 ft. to 2400 ft. depth.

This chart is for the pipe and water only. You will need to take the weight of the submersible pump and other components which will be load bearing on the Pitless adapter such as pump cable into consideration.

For Example:

The PA-125NL is rated for 2000 lbs which will not cover a 900 ft. pump set installation on 1-1/4” galvanized pipe. The pipe and water will be 2627 lbs plus the pump and other components. You will need to use the 304 SS Pitless (PN: P-125-SS) which is rated for 6000 lbs. The P-125-SS will carry 2000 ft. of pipe and water weighing 5838 lbs.
