Can the stiffener insert be removed from the BOSHART BPF and SSPF Push-Fit fittings?

Yes. The stiffener can easily be removed by pulling it past the O-ring, with the aid of the disconnect clip or disconnect tongs to push in the collet to open the gripper ring, which allows the stiffener to move freely past the gripper ring, a slow, gentle pull using needle nose pliers will pull the stiffener out.

WARNING: The stiffener MUST be installed when using the fitting with PEX, HDPE or PE-RT Pipe. It is not required for the more rigid Copper or CPVC piping, however, it is not necessary to remove the tube liner from the fitting.
