Can I solder a fitting close to a Push-Fit fitting?

Soldering copper fittings close to a Push-Fit fitting should be avoided. Do not solder, braze, weld, or fusion-weld within 18"; the heat from the torch can be transferred through the copper pipe and cause damage the O-ring. It is recommended to solder and let the connection cool prior to installing a BPF or SSPF series Push-Fit fitting near the solder connection.
