Can I field install a pulsation plug in my pressure switch?
Yes, you can be purchase the pulsation plugs separately in bag quantities to keep on your service truck. A pulsation plug is a plastic disc which has a very tiny hole in the center which allows water to pass through at a significantly reduced flow rate, it is basically an economy (low cost) pressure snubber.
They can be easily field installed, by simply pushing the plug into the ¼” FPT connection of a pressure switch before threading it onto the pressure line (pipe nipple) on the tank tee or pump.
Pressure switches can also be purchased with the pulsation plugs factory installed.
