Are your SSPEX series fittings Cold Expansion PEX (CEP) type fittings?

No, the "SSPEX" Series 304 Stainless Steel Crimp PEX fittings are manufactured to ASTM 1807 and are only securing the connection by utilizing a Copper Crimp Ring, or Alternate Stainless-Steel Clamps, for SDR9 Cross-linked Polyethylene (PEX) Tubing and SDR9 Polyethylene of Raised Temperature (PE-RT) Tubing. They are the stainless steel version of the ASTM F2159 710P Polysulfone (PPSU) series pastic crimp fittings

That said, the SSPEX fittings are suitable for use with all three types of PEX piping (types A, B & C). You will typically see these ASTM-F1807 Crimp / Clamp Type fittings used with PEX "B" piping. Since PEX A is more expensive and is not required for crimp fastening systems. Type “C” piping is rarely used.

NOTE: Currently there are no Stainless-Steel Cold Expansion PEX Fittings available. We only offer plastic ASTM F1960 CEP fittings in Polysulfone (PPSU) material at this time - Series 710P
