PEX Fittings

Are your SSPEX series fittings Cold Expansion PEX (CEP) type fittings?

No, the SSPEX Series 304 Stainless Steel Crimp PEX fittings are manufactured to ASTM 1807 and only secure the connection by utilizing a copper crimp ring or an alternate stainless-steel clamp for SDR9 Cross-linked Polyethylene (PEX) Tubing and SDR9 Polyethylene of Raised Temperature (PE-RT) Tubing. They are the stainless steel version of the ASTM F2159 710P Polysulfone (PPSU) series plastic crimp fittings.

That said, the SSPEX fittings are suitable for use with all three types of PEX piping (types A, B & C). You will typically see these ASTM-F1807 Crimp / Clamp Type fittings used with PEX "B" piping. Since PEX A is more expensive and is not required for crimp fastening systems. Type “C” piping is rarely used.
