Are check valves suitable for compressed air applications?

The 17YBCV, 17CV, and 17CVSS series check valves are suitable for compressed air applications based on the on the WOG (water, oil, gas) ratings. Air falls under the “gas” terminology.

WOG Ratings: WOG (water, oil, gas) is a term that is gradually being replaced by CWP (Cold Working Pressure). It simply means that the valve is intended for use with water, oil or gas, with the exception of combustible gases.

List of Gases

The most common example of a gas is the air we breathe. It can be considered as a mixture of many gases such as nitrogen, oxygen, and carbon dioxide.

Some examples of gases are listed below:

♦ Hydrogen ♦Nitrogen   ♦ Oxygen   ♦ Carbon Dioxide   ♦ Carbon Monoxide   ♦ Water Vapor              ♦ Helium   ♦ Neon   ♦ Argon   ♦ Ozone

Never use PVC or other plastic check valves for compressed air applications!
