Are BOSHART BPF and SSPF Push-Fit fittings reusable?

Yes. BOSHART BPF and SSPF Push-Fit fittings can be reused, however reuse should be limited to 1-2 times maximum when the fitting is used in a permanent plumbing installation. If the fitting is located in a hard to access or critical area the use of a new fitting would be our recommendation. If it is decided to reuse a push-fit fitting the installer must thoroughly inspect the fitting for any damage to the fitting, O-ring and Stainless Gripper Ring and Teeth. If there are any signs of damage, or if any of the teeth in the stainless gripper are bent or damaged, the fitting must not be used. Make sure that it is free of any foreign debris before reusing it on a connection.

The repeated reuse of these fittings is intended for pressure testing applications such as test caps on a stub out, for example, as a test cap the fitting can be reused over and over.

WARNING: Push-Fit fittings that have had repeated re-use in testing applications MUST NEVER be used in a permanent plumbing application!
