Push-Fit

Are BOSHART BPF and SSPF Push-Fit fittings certified for use in hydronic heating systems?

Yes. BOSHART BPF and SSPF Push-Fit fittings are certified for and can be used for hydronic heating applications, including glycol mixtures used in hydronic up to and including 100% glycol.

Today, the supply water temperature is around 150°F to 170°F, in the past hydronic systems ran at higher temperatures of 180°F to 200°F.

It is important that the system temperature does not exceed the maximum 200°F operating temperature rating of fittings and PEX pipe which also has a maximum operating temperature of 200°F.

No PEX should be operated at temperatures above 200°F for any length of time. The use of crosslinked polyethylene (PEX) pipe and tubing in high-temperature applications with operating temperatures above 180°F may affect the tubing's design life.

BOSHART BPF NL Brass Push-Fit fittings are certified to 200 PSI (1379 kPa) and 200°F (93°C).

BOSHART SSPF 304SS Push-Fit fittings are certified to 300 PSI (2068 kPa) and 200°F (93°C).
