♦ NOTE! - It is extremely rare that you would need to replace a valve body or the standpipe. If you find either of these in need of replacement it is likely after many years of service, and we would suggest that the entire hydrant be replaced at this point. In the event your soil / water conditions are causing accelerated corrosion on the Galvanized standpipe and or steel connecting rod, a YHPCRS series hydrant should be installed to increase the life expectancy of the hydrant.
13YH-R-XXX 3/8" Diameter Replacement Connecting Rods
In the event you need to replace the long connecting rod (the long rod that runs the length of the standpipe) which connects the operating / coupling to the plunger. You will need to determine the length of rod you need, if you know the bury depth of the hydrant from your installation record your all set, if you do not have this info. no worries you can measure it easily as shown in the diagram below. The length of the connecting rod is the measurement between the Hex Coupling and the Plunger + 1".
The rod will be threaded 1/2" into the coupling and the plunger!

Stainless steel connecting rods are available for the “CRS” Corrosion Resistant Series of hydrants, you can upgrade to the SS connecting rod if making a replacement, if doing so you should also use the SS coupling, the standard plunger is stainless as standard equipment.
