Well Water Systems

What is the function of easy-tie adapters in a well water system?

Adapters are used in pipe systems to connect sections of pipe, adapt to different sizes or shapes, for regulating fluid flow, and more.

In terms of well water systems, the easy-tie adapters connect the check valve at the pump discharge to the riser pipe and connect the pitless adapter to the riser pipe.

The first easy-tie insert adapter threads into the discharge on the check valve at the submersible pump and inserts into the poly riser pipe. A second adapter is threaded into the pitless adapter at the well head to connect to the poly riser pipe. The lug with a hole, also referred to as a “rope eye”, provides an easy means to securely fasten the safety rope or cable or to secure the submersible pump to the well head in case of a pipe failure or if the insert fitting should pull out of the poly pipe. Boshart adapters are available in bronze and come in 1” and 1-1/4” sizes, in straight and reducing configurations.

In summary, the function of easy-tie adapters in well water systems are to:

  • Prevent the loss of the submersible pump to the bottom of the well
  • Connect the discharge on the check valve to the poly pipe riser
  • Connect the pitless adapter to the poly pipe rise
