What is the difference between 3:1 and 4:1 shrink ratios on your heat shrink and splice kits?

Heat shrink ratios give you the size of the original heat shrink tubing in relation to its shrunken, final form.

The HEAVY DUTY 3:1 RATIO HEAT SHRINK KITS 

This 3:1 heat shrink tubing will be one-third of its original size once the heat is applied. The original heat shrinkable tubing is three times larger than its shrunken form.

The FAST RECOVERY 4:1 RATIO HEAT SHRINK KITS

This 4:1 heat shrink tubing will be one-quarter of its original size once the heat is applied. The original heat shrinkable tubing is four times larger than its shrunken form.
