Push-Fit

What are the advantages of Push-Fit fittings?

A push-fit fitting is a compression type of fitting with an easy installation process and a watertight seal. They come in a variety of configurations, can be used in plumbing and heating applications, and have many advantages.

Push-fit fittings are also commonly referred to as Push-To-Connect fittings. Push-fit fittings provide an easy and dependable way to join piping made to CTS (Copper Tube Size) such as PEX, COPPER, CPVC, HDPE, or PE-RT pipe in any combination with basic tools and minimal plumbing knowledge / experience.

The main advantages of BOSHART BPF and SSPF Push-Fit fittings are:

  • Simply push, connect and go!
  • Able to connect various types of piping systems various combinations.
  • Easy to install, they do not require special training / skills, costly specialized tools for assembly.
  • Safe, no fire hazard from soldering torch, great for tight spaces where flammable materials are present.
  • Ideal for wet repairs where soldering can be extremely difficult.
  • Clean, no primers or solvent cements required and no risk of accidentally getting solvents on surrounding equipment that could be damaged by solvents.
  • No crimp rings or pinch clamps required, simply mark and insert the pipe to the proper depth, the stainless steel gripper ring teeth bite into the pipe and grip tight, the O-ring is compressed between the pipe and the fitting body to create a secure watertight seal.

The BOSHART SSPF Series 304 SS Push-Fit fittings have some additional advantages over BPF DZR Brass Push-Fit fittings:

  • Superior corrosion resistance.
  • 304 SS contains no zinc and therefore is impervious to dezincification corrosion.
  • 304 SS contains no Zero lead (Pb) content (No-Lead Brass can contain up to 0.25% Pb by weighted average as per NSF 372 testing criteria).
  • Higher operating pressure rating.
  • Easier to install, requiring less insertion force.
