Pressure Gauge

How to refill a Boshart Liquid Filled Pressure Gauge

The liquid level in a pressure gauge needs to be sufficient to submerse the internal gauge components such as the bourdon tube, gears and linkage mechanism. The liquid fill not only lubricates all moving components, dramatically reducing wear, it also dampens vibration, mechanical shock and pressure pulsations which enables easier pressure readings, and eliminates corrosion, moisture penetration and icing due to the ambient atmosphere.

Liquid can easily be added to the gauges by removing the rubber fill plug located on the top of the gauge and pouring in the liquid media. We recommend using a syringe to fill the gauge.

It is also recommended to leave an air space between the fill fluid and the top of the window of approximately 1/4" to 1/2" minimum.
