Do the spool type industrial pitless adapter units have hold-down hooks?
Yes!
Since 2018, Boshart supplies all spool type industrial pitless units with the premium lift out assembly including the “Hold-Down/Torque Arrestor” as standard equipment.
BENEFITS….
❶ Simplification of ordering.
❷ Cost reduction through standardized manufacturing.
❸ Risk of spool lift-out or rotation of the pipe column due to locked rotor condition 100% eliminated.
❹ Risk of pressure in flowing well lifting the spool is eliminated. The “J” Hooks which are mechanically engaged through the pitless upper barrel (pitless casing) are tightened, transferring downward pressure through the lift pipe to the spool, and holding it securely in position.
This prevents the water pressure inside the well, created by confining the water below the spool, from lifting the pump column/spool assembly out of the well.
❺ SAFETY!
Hold-down pods double as lifting pods for safer lifting of the unit during installation.
